Temptation is something that most of us face on a daily basis.
And kind of like Jesus in the wilderness, it says that the devil left him for a while, or a more opportune time.
Sometimes there are seasons of temptation and sometimes it’s just like a random opportunistic villain attacking our spiritual strength.
The fact is, if we don’t have good grounding in the word of God we are leaving ourselves wide open to attack.
And not just attack, but potential defeat.
Every time the devil came against Jesus when he was being tempted, Jesus’ defence was the word of God.
And the devil even tried to use the word of God against Jesus as part of the temptation to justify it!
Jesus was able to overcome the temptation of the devil Because he knew the word of God.
Be encouraged today that time spent reading, contemplating, meditating on the word of God is not time wasted.
When you read the word of God you are supercharging your armour.
Even a verse like this one, being reminded that temptation is not from God, can give you enough strength to move past the temptation and overcome in His name.
Are you being tempted?
Is your faith being tested?
Give yourself back to the word of God, for the knowledge of God is the beginning of wisdom.
Understand what the will of the Lord is and be strengthened by the word of God.
God loves you.
God is for you.
God knows you can overcome.
Be strong in his word and in the power of his might.
Read the word daily.
